matamatics - The Winner Is (DeVotchKa & Mychael Danna Cover)
In a seasonal music exchange that a few of my friends and I participate in, I was introduced to DeVotchKa and Michael Danna’s The Winner Isin mp3 form. Originally written for the movie Little Miss Sunshine, the track remains apt to its title—by the end of the it you’ll feel like you’re the winner… The winner of the Awesome Award.
My adaptation doesn’t stray too far away from the original—mostly because I like it so much—but I did throw in some synths and an 808 kick drum that helps add to the melody party. Hope you enjoy it and congratulations on the Awesome Award.
