a smooth, loungey jam with a bit of extra kick drum to give it some dance. you’ll be able to vote for the remix here on January 17th as part of a competition. hope you enjoy and thanks for the support, ladies and gents!
On Wednesday, mah boi Charles I gave the public an opportunity to remix his track “Simple State of Mind” featuring the wonderful vocal stylings of Gold Lamay. I had a real fondness for the song after hearing it back at the beginning of this year and jumped on the opp to play with such an awesome sample. It didn’t take long before I had something different enough and smooth enough to send out to y’all. hope ya dig and a good Friday to you.
I DJed this mini-mix just in time for the weekend. Most of the songs are no more than a couple months old; some haven’t even be released yet. So, yeah, it’s fresh. Enjoy the freshness errybuddy. Tonight, Friendly Fires at the Music Box. See ya there?
A couple months back I got an email from this rapper Loggy. In the email he said matamatics had been on his radar for a bit and he wanted to do some kind of collab. Well, it’s couple months later, school’s out for summer, and I finally had a chance to work on it. The track is a genre I haven’t yet attempted to tackle with any of my remixes or productions—kinda housey, kinda loungey—but still has a mtmtcs feel. I tried to keep it smooth and engaging. The original is a feel-good, super upbeat and super catchy tune. Listen to it here. It’s safe to say that I took it in a dramatically different direction.
Also, it’s the first finished song I’ve produced with my new monitors, so feel free to play it loud—it’ll hold up nicely.
I remixed “Hannah” by Freelance Whales. The original is a bit neurotic—I’ve stripped it down and added electric and acoustic pianos. It’s heavy on the melody, simple on the cowbell.
You can potentially send me to COACHELLA this year by VOTING for my remix here. (or above) Remix with the most votes gets 2 VIP tix to the promised land.
i don’t know who shad and dallas are. one is white, the other is black—i’m not sure which is which. i do know one thing about the duo, however: one of the two has a real nice voice—nice enough for me to spend a solid few hrs/days on a remix of their song “Live Forever”. the original is pretty dope. i suggest you click the link there and give it a listen.
i took the vocals and the drums and made it another 80s pop ballad thing. unfortunately, the rapping on the original didn’t fit to my liking so i left it out. hope you dig the creation. right-click the link at the top to download the mp3!

sup y’all. it’s been far too long since i’ve posted anything. and for that i apologize. but i’m getting backatcha with a personal fave of mine, Sleigh Bells’ “Rachel”, of which I morphed into a dancey, synth-and-beat-heavy tune. who thought the sound of breath could ever be so damn hauntingly catchy, rhythmic and awesome? this guy sure didn’t. hope you enjoy.
